life!
The New
Jersey Veterinary Foundation Animal Hall of Fame began
in
1995 and honors the animals that enrich our lives and celebrates
the special relationship shared between people and animals.
Application forms must be received by January 7, 2005.
The event
is sponsored by Nestle Purina and News 12 New Jersey.
Nominations
are being sought in five categories:
• HERO - Animals that have saved or
preserved human life.
• COMPANION - Animals that are your
family’s best friend.
• PROFESSIONAL - Trained assistance
animals (guide dogs, herding dogs, police and
drug enforcement dogs).
• THERAPY - Animals that serve people
in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes,
schools, prisons or other care facilities.
• ANIMAL WELFARE AWARD - Individuals
who have worked to improve the care and dignity
of animals.
The Animal
Hall of Fame celebrates and honors the special relationship
between people and animals.
Recognition
• Inductees will be honored during a public awards
luncheon in March, 2005.
• Animals and their owners must be available to receive
the awards and participate in public recognition activities
including media interviews.
• Inductees become part of the virtual Animal Hall of
Fame located at www.njvma.org.
