NJVMA ANIMAL HALL OF FAME
Every year, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA) honors the human-animal bond by recognizing special animals that have made a difference in someone’s life. Pet owners whose pet’s show exceptional affection, bravery, empathy or who are simply special in unique ways are encouraged to submit nominations for this year’s annual hall of fame.
The annual hall of fame has recognized over 50 animals since its inception in 1996. It is an opportunity to recognize how special pets are and the valuable contributions that they make to peoples’ lives. This year’s award recipients will be honored at the public awards luncheon being held on Sunday, March 4, 2012.
In order to be considered, all applications must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the animal’s owner explaining: how the animal exhibited special abilities when it mattered most and how the animal demonstrated unselfish and/or courageous accomplishments. Detailed examples of the animal’s display of affection, loyalty, and/or companionship should be included. It is also required that the pet owner include the name of his or her veterinarian to be considered.
